त्वचारोग और यौन संचरण रोग

परिचय

त्वचा रोग एवं शीर्षक्षेत्रीय यौन संचारित रोग (एसटीडी) केंद्र विभाग ओपीडी ब्लॉक की पाँचवीं मंजिलपर, 'बी' एवं 'सी' विंग में स्थित है।यह विभाग बाह्य रोगी (ओपीडी), आंतरिक रोगी (आईपीडी) तथा आपातकालीन सेवाओंकी आवश्यकता वाले रोगियों कोउपचार एवं चिकित्सा सेवाएँप्रदान करता है। त्वचारोगों, त्वचा संबंधी आपातकालीन स्थितियों, कुष्ठ रोग तथा यौनसंचारित रोगों का उपचार एवंप्रबंधन निःशुल्क उपलब्ध कराया जाता है।

शीर्ष एसटीडी केंद्र राष्ट्रीय एड्स नियंत्रण संगठन (नाको) तथा दिल्ली राज्यएड्स नियंत्रण समिति (डीएसएसीएस) के सहयोग सेकार्य करता है। यहविभाग एक शहरी कुष्ठरोग केंद्र (अर्बन लेप्रोसी सेंटर) भी है तथाराष्ट्रीय कुष्ठ उन्मूलन कार्यक्रम (एनएलईपी) के सहयोग सेकार्यरत है। विभाग कानेतृत्व विभागाध्यक्ष द्वारा किया जाता है, जिनके अधीन संकाय सदस्य, नर्सिंग स्टाफ, पैरामेडिकल कर्मचारी एवं सहायक कर्मचारीकार्य करते हैं।

यह विभाग सभीप्रकार के त्वचा रोगोंके लिए एक रेफरलकेंद्र है तथा इसकीबाह्य रोगी सेवाओं (ओपीडी) में सर्वाधिक रोगी उपस्थिति दर्जकी जाती है। वर्ष 2022 में विभाग ने लगभग 1,22,201 रोगियों कोसेवाएँ प्रदान कीं। वर्ष 2023 मेंत्वचा रोग ओपीडी मेंकुल 1,42,552 रोगियों का पंजीकरण हुआ।आंतरिक रोगियों के लिए विभागमें 40 बिस्तरों वाला त्वचा रोगवार्ड उपलब्ध है, जहाँ गंभीरऔषधि प्रतिक्रियाएँ, एरिथ्रोडर्मा, प्रतिरक्षा-जनित बुलस विकार (इम्यूनोबुलस डिसऑर्डर्स) सहित अनेक गंभीरत्वचा रोगों का उपचार कियाजाता है।

विभाग त्वचा रोग एवं यौनसंचारित रोगों के क्षेत्र मेंनियमित रूप से शिक्षण, प्रशिक्षण एवं अनुसंधान गतिविधियाँसंचालित करता है। विभागनवीनतम लेज़र उपकरणों, फोटोथेरेपी इकाइयों तथा रेडियोफ्रीक्वेंसी मशीनों सेसुसज्जित है तथा समय-समय पर इनकाआधुनिकीकरण भी किया जाताहै। इसके अतिरिक्त, विभागयोग्य त्वचा रोग विशेषज्ञों केलिए अल्पकालिक प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम भी संचालित करताहै।

आधारभूत संरचना

सफदरजंग अस्पताल के त्वचा रोग, यौन रोग एवं कुष्ठरोग विभाग में बाह्य रोगी, आंतरिक रोगी, नैदानिक, उपचारात्मक, शैक्षणिक तथा सामुदायिक सेवाओंकी व्यापक व्यवस्था उपलब्ध है। विभाग मेंएक्जिमा, सोरायसिस, विटिलिगो (सफेद दाग), बालएवं नाखून संबंधी रोगों, कुष्ठ रोग तथा यौनसंचारित संक्रमणों (एसटीआई) सहित विभिन्न प्रकारके त्वचा रोगों का समग्र निदानएवं उपचार किया जाता है।

विभाग में सामान्य ओपीडीएवं सीजीएचएस ओपीडी, विभिन्न विशिष्ट क्लीनिक, उपचार एवं प्रक्रिया कक्ष, लघु एवं प्रमुख ऑपरेशनथिएटर, लेज़र एवं फोटोथेरेपी इकाइयाँ, त्वचा रोग ऊतक परीक्षण (हिस्टोपैथोलॉजी) एवं प्रयोगशाला सुविधाएँ, सेमिनार एवं शिक्षण कक्ष, विभागीय पुस्तकालय एवं संग्रहालय तथापुरुष एवं महिला एसटीआईक्लीनिक की समुचित व्यवस्थाउपलब्ध है। उन्नत नैदानिकसुविधाओं में वुड्स लैम्पपरीक्षण, डर्मोस्कोपी, माइक्रोस्कोपी, स्लिट-स्किन स्मीयर, पैच परीक्षण, त्वचाएवं नाखून की बायोप्सी तथाएसटीआई संबंधी व्यापक प्रयोगशाला सेवाएँ शामिल हैं।

विभाग में एनबी-यूवीबीएवं यूवीए फोटोथेरेपी, डर्माटोसर्जरी, विटिलिगो सर्जरी, रेडियोफ्रीक्वेंसी सर्जरी, केमिकल पील, माइक्रोनीडलिंग, पीआरपी (प्लेटलेट-रिच प्लाज़्मा) थेरेपीतथा डायोड, एनडी:वाईएजी एवंसीओ₂ लेज़र जैसी उन्नत उपचारसुविधाएँ उपलब्ध हैं। सभी नैदानिकएवं उपचारात्मक प्रक्रियाएँ, जिनमें शल्य चिकित्सा, फोटोथेरेपीतथा लेज़र उपचार शामिल हैं, रोगियों कोपूर्णतः निःशुल्क प्रदान किए जाते हैं।

विभाग में शहरी कुष्ठरोग केंद्र (अर्बन लेप्रोसी सेंटर) संचालित है, जहाँ राष्ट्रीयकुष्ठ उन्मूलन कार्यक्रम (एनएलईपी) के अंतर्गत कुष्ठरोग का समग्र निदान, उपचार, जटिलताओं का प्रबंधन तथानिःशुल्क बहुऔषधीय चिकित्सा (मल्टी ड्रग थेरेपी) उपलब्धकराई जाती है। विभागका एसटीआई प्रकोष्ठ राष्ट्रीय एड्स नियंत्रण संगठन (नाको) द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त क्षेत्रीय एसटीडी शिक्षण, प्रशिक्षण एवं अनुसंधान केंद्रतथा शीर्ष एसटीआई केंद्र के रूप मेंकार्य करता है, जिसेएनएबीएल (NABL) मान्यता प्राप्त प्रयोगशाला का सहयोग प्राप्तहै।

आंतरिक रोगी सेवाएँ जटिलत्वचा रोगों एवं त्वचा संबंधीआपातकालीन स्थितियों के लिए उपलब्धहैं। इनमें ऑटोइम्यून वेसिकुलोबुलस विकार, संयोजी ऊतक रोग (कनेक्टिवटिश्यू डिजीज), गंभीर त्वचीय औषधीय प्रतिकूल प्रतिक्रियाएँ, एरिथ्रोडर्मा तथा स्टीवंस–जॉनसनसिंड्रोम/टॉक्सिक एपिडर्मल नेक्रोलाइसिस (एसजेएस/टीईएन) जैसी गंभीर अवस्थाओंका उपचार किया जाता है।विभाग के संकाय सदस्यएवं रेज़िडेंट चिकित्सक चौबीसों घंटे रोगियों कीचिकित्सा सेवाएँ प्रदान करते हैं।

विभाग शिक्षण, अनुसंधान, प्रशिक्षण तथा सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्यसेवाओं में सक्रिय रूपसे संलग्न है। इसके अंतर्गतपरिधीय क्लीनिकों का संचालन, जन-जागरूकता कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन तथाराष्ट्रीय त्वचा स्वास्थ्य संबंधी विभिन्न पहलों में सक्रिय सहभागिताकी जाती है।

फोटोथेरेपी

विभाग में आधुनिक फोटोथेरेपीइकाई उपलब्ध है, जिसमें एनबी-यूवीबी (NB-UVB) तथा यूवीए (UVA) चैंबर की सुविधा है।इनका उपयोग सोरायसिस, विटिलिगो तथा अन्य त्वचारोगों के उपचार हेतुकिया जाता है।

कुष्ठ रोग सेवाएँ

विभाग में शहरी कुष्ठ रोग केंद्र (Urban Leprosy Centre) संचालित है। यहाँ कुष्ठरोग का पंजीकरण, निदान, उपचार, कुष्ठ प्रतिक्रियाओं, जटिलताओं एवं विकलांगताओं कासमग्र प्रबंधन किया जाता है।रोगियों को बहुऔषधीय चिकित्सा (Multidrug Therapy – MDT) निःशुल्क उपलब्ध कराई जाती है।विभाग में राष्ट्रीय कुष्ठ उन्मूलन कार्यक्रम (NLEP) के दिशा-निर्देशोंका पालन किया जाताहै।

कुष्ठ रोगियों के लिए विशेषक्लीनिक निम्नानुसार संचालित होते हैं—

एसटीआई (यौन संचारित संक्रमण) सेवाएँ

विभाग का एसटीआई प्रकोष्ठवर्ष 1956 से भारत सरकारके क्षेत्रीय एसटीडी शिक्षण, प्रशिक्षण एवं अनुसंधान केंद्र के रूप मेंकार्यरत है तथा वर्ष2009 में राष्ट्रीय एड्स नियंत्रण संगठन (NACO) द्वारा शीर्ष (Apex) एसटीआई केंद्र के रूप मेंमान्यता प्राप्त है। विभाग कीएसटीआई प्रयोगशाला एनएबीएल (NABL) मान्यता प्राप्त है, जहाँ माइक्रोस्कोपी, सीरोलॉजी तथा सूक्ष्मजीवविज्ञान संबंधी जाँचोंसहित विभिन्न एसटीआई के निदान हेतुउन्नत प्रयोगशाला सेवाएँ उपलब्ध हैं।

आंतरिक रोगी सेवाएँ (आईपीडी)

विभाग में ऑटोइम्यून वेसिकुलोबुलसरोगों, संयोजी ऊतक रोगों (Connective Tissue Disorders) तथा त्वचीय औषधीयप्रतिकूल प्रतिक्रियाओं (Cutaneous Adverse Drug Reactions) काउपचार उपलब्ध है। इसके अतिरिक्तविभाग त्वचा संबंधी आपातकालीन स्थितियों, जैसे—

सामुदायिक सेवाएँ

विभाग द्वारा नियमित रूप से त्वचारोगों के लिए स्वास्थ्यशिविर आयोजित किए जाते हैं।इसके अतिरिक्त, विभाग दिल्ली कारागार के बंदियों मेंहोने वाले त्वचा रोगोंके निदान एवं उपचार मेंभी सक्रिय रूप से सहयोगप्रदान करता है। प्रत्येकगुरुवार को ओपीडी समयके दौरान सामान्य त्वचा रोगों से संबंधित जन-जागरूकता व्याख्यान आयोजित किए जाते हैं।

विभाग के प्रवेश द्वारपर विटिलिगो (सफेद दाग), कुष्ठरोग तथा अन्य सामान्यत्वचा रोगों से संबंधित बड़ेसूचना-पैनल प्रदर्शित किएगए हैं। इनके माध्यमसे रोगियों को इन रोगोंके उपचार, रोकथाम तथा उनसे जुड़ेप्रचलित मिथकों एवं भ्रांतियों केबारे में जागरूक कियाजाता है। अस्पताल परिसरतथा ओपीडी पंजीकरण क्षेत्र में स्थापित एलईडीडिस्प्ले बोर्ड के माध्यम सेभी सामान्य त्वचा रोगों एवं उनके प्रतिजन-जागरूकता संबंधी जानकारी प्रदर्शित की जाती है।

भारतीय त्वचा रोग विशेषज्ञ संघ (आईएडीवीएल) के सहयोग सेविभाग विश्व विटिलिगो दिवस, विश्व सोरायसिस दिवस तथा विश्व कुष्ठ रोग दिवस जैसे विशेष अवसरोंपर विभिन्न जन-जागरूकता कार्यक्रमआयोजित करता है, जिनकाउद्देश्य आम जनता कोइन सामान्य त्वचा रोगों के बारे मेंवैज्ञानिक एवं सही जानकारीप्रदान करना है।

विभाग द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष अनेक जन-जागरूकताएवं स्वास्थ्य संवर्धन कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते हैं।इनमें विश्व कुष्ठ रोग दिवस, विश्व विटिलिगो दिवस, विश्व एड्स दिवस तथा डर्माटोफाइट सप्ताह प्रमुख हैं। इन कार्यक्रमोंका उद्देश्य सामाजिक महत्त्व के रोगों केप्रति जन-जागरूकता बढ़ानाहै। इसके लिए नुक्कड़नाटक, स्वास्थ्य व्याख्यान एवं जन-जागरूकतागतिविधियों का आयोजन कियाजाता है।

विभाग के संकाय सदस्यएवं रेज़िडेंट चिकित्सक प्रतिवर्ष स्वास्थ्य शिविर आयोजित करते हैं, जिनमेंविभिन्न त्वचा रोगों की जाँच, उपचारतथा निःशुल्क दवाओं का वितरण कियाजाता है। इसके अतिरिक्त, विभाग के संकाय सदस्यमहाविद्यालयों के विद्यार्थियों, गर्भवतीमहिलाओं (प्रसवपूर्व देखभाल प्राप्त कर रही महिलाओं) तथा आम जनता केलिए नियमित रूप से स्वास्थ्यजागरूकता व्याख्यान आयोजित करते हैं।

विभाग द्वारा दिल्ली की कारागारों मेंभी नियमित स्वास्थ्य शिविर आयोजित किए जाते हैं, जहाँ बंदियों को त्वचा रोगोंका निःशुल्क उपचार उपलब्ध कराया जाता है तथायौन संचारित संक्रमणों (एसटीआई) की जाँच एवंस्क्रीनिंग की सुविधा भीप्रदान की जाती है।

पाठ्यक्रम

सफदरजंग अस्पताल, नई दिल्ली कात्वचा रोग, यौन रोग एवं कुष्ठ रोग विभाग त्वचा रोग विज्ञान केक्षेत्र में उत्कृष्ट शिक्षा, गुणवत्तापूर्ण रोगी देखभाल तथाअनुसंधान को बढ़ावा देनेके उद्देश्य से व्यापक शैक्षणिकएवं नैदानिक प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम संचालित करता है।

एमडी (त्वचा रोग, यौन रोग एवं कुष्ठ रोग)

विभाग गुरु गोबिंद सिंह इंद्रप्रस्थ विश्वविद्यालय (GGSIPU) के अंतर्गत प्रतिष्ठिततीन वर्षीय स्नातकोत्तर एमडी (त्वचा रोग, यौन रोग एवं कुष्ठ रोग) पाठ्यक्रम संचालित करता है। इसपाठ्यक्रम में क्लिनिकल डर्मेटोलॉजी, यौन संचारित संक्रमण (एसटीआई), कुष्ठ रोग, डर्मेटोपैथोलॉजी, त्वचाशल्य चिकित्सा (डर्माटोसर्जरी), लेज़र चिकित्सा, डर्मोस्कोपी तथा अनुसंधान पद्धतिका व्यापक प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया जाता है।

रेज़िडेंट चिकित्सकों को नियमित ओपीडी, आंतरिक रोगी सेवाओं (आईपीडी), विभिन्न विशेषज्ञ क्लीनिकों, शैक्षणिक गतिविधियों तथा अनुसंधान परियोजनाओंके माध्यम से व्यावहारिक एवंनैदानिक प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया जाता है, जिससे वे नैदानिक चिकित्सा, शिक्षण एवं अनुसंधान केक्षेत्र में उत्कृष्ट कार्यकरने के लिए सक्षमबनते हैं।

एसीएसआई ऑब्ज़र्वरशिप कार्यक्रम

विभाग को एसोसिएशन ऑफ क्यूटेनियस सर्जन्स ऑफ इंडिया (ACSI) द्वारा ऑब्ज़र्वरशिप कार्यक्रम के लिए मान्यताप्राप्त है। यह कार्यक्रमदेश की प्रसिद्ध डर्माटोसर्जनडॉ. नीति खुंगर के मार्गदर्शन मेंसंचालित किया जाता है।

इस कार्यक्रम केअंतर्गत प्रतिभागियों को त्वचा एवंसौंदर्य संबंधी शल्य प्रक्रियाओं काविशेष प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया जाता है।इनमें विटिलिगो (सफेद दाग) सर्जरी, फैट ग्राफ्टिंग, लेज़र उपचार, इलेक्ट्रोसर्जरी, स्कार प्रबंधन तथा कॉस्मेटिक डर्मेटोलॉजीकी विभिन्न प्रक्रियाएँ शामिल हैं।

यह ऑब्ज़र्वरशिप कार्यक्रमत्वचा रोग विशेषज्ञों एवंस्नातकोत्तर प्रशिक्षुओं को उच्च रोगी-भार वाले तृतीयकचिकित्सा संस्थान में विशेषज्ञ पर्यवेक्षणके अंतर्गत व्यावहारिक एवं प्रक्रियात्मक कौशलविकसित करने का उत्कृष्टअवसर प्रदान करता है।

4.	Dr. Sumathi Muralidhar	Re-elected to the post of Zonal Representative for North zone as Executive member of IASSTD & AIDS, for the fourth consecutive year. PhD scholar won gold medal in Govindan Nair memorial award. PG (MD-Micro) won IUSTI scholarship award for his paper. Faculty speaker at ASTICON 2025 in Ahmedabad. Dr. Dhaarna Wadhwa	Organized skin health camp in association with Brahma kumaris and Indian association of dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists on 13 July 2025 in Sanatan Dharm Mandir, Sukhdev Vihar, New Delhi-110025. Presented a free paper titled “Assessment of liver and renal function in HIV- infected persons on HAART: a missed cohort study” in ASTICON 2025 held in Ahmedabad in November 2025 and received 2 and prize for same. Dr. Dhaarna Wadhwa got an award in the free paper session.
